A characterful East London dining venue uniting industrial heritage, tactile banquettes and intimate bar culture
Situated near Kingsland Road in Dalston, this hospitality project converted a former commercial brick unit into a vibrant neighbourhood restaurant and evening bar. The design intent was to craft an authentic East London venue that feels rooted in its creative surroundings rather than an ostentatious luxury dining room.
Continuous fluted terracotta leather banquettes run the perimeter of the dining floor, maximising covers whilst offering relaxed comfort. Dark-stained English oak dining tables, olive-green fluted bar cabinetry, exposed brick shelving gantries, and low-slung brass wall sconces create an intimate dining atmosphere. Acoustic plaster finishes dampen ambient noise, allowing easy conversation even during peak dinner services.
Cover Economics, Fluted Bar Joinery & Acoustic Comfort
Balancing table density with generous guest comfort and efficient waiter circulation routes.
The floor layout was planned to accommodate 68 covers without compromising service aisles between the front-of-house bar and rear commercial pass. Deep terracotta leather banquettes eliminate dead corner zones, while solid oak tables on weighted cast-iron bases ensure rock-solid stability. Acoustic plasterboard ceilings absorb clatter from tableware, creating a comfortable soundscape.
