An intimate lounge planned for day-to-night hospitality
Designed for a prominent site in Kensington, this boutique cocktail lounge and bar was planned to accommodate both quiet daytime coffee and brisk evening cocktail service. We configured the floor plate around a central curved bar counter, ensuring swift staff circulation and clear service routes whilst framing semi-private seating alcoves along the perimeter walls.
Fluted oak wall panelling and terracotta acoustic plasterwork soften the room’s acoustics during busy service hours. Hardwearing leather banquettes, honed granite bar tops, and brushed brass footrails were chosen for their durability under heavy commercial use, patinating handsomely as the venue matures.
Service Flow, Acoustic Control & Architectural Illumination
Engineered to deliver high operational efficiency for staff alongside comfortable, layered seating for guests.
In hospitality venues, layout dictates commercial success. We designed the under-bar stations with commercial refrigeration, dual cocktail speed rails, and integrated glasswashers to reduce server travel time during peak trading. Lighting is controlled via a four-scene architectural dimmer, transitioning smoothly from natural daylight levels at midday to warm, 2200K low-level illumination by evening, accented by wireless rechargeable table lamps at every booth.
